How To Read Sheet Music

Its important for you to know in this piano lesson that, in sheet music, various signs are used if parts of the music are to be played more than once. Make sure you understand how these signs work in each piece of music before you start to play it.

My piano lessons - music sheet - Repeat Sign, this means you should return to a similar sign which is facing the other way - and repeat the music in between

The order in which the music is to be playedis often obvious in songs from the way the lyrics (words) are written.

In some tunes, the melody is changed slightly for the second or third verses. These changes are often shown with smaller than normal notes.
