This part is important in the overall piano lesson stages ive layed out. So its important that you understand it.
At the beginning of every piece of music, there are two numbers,
or a sign - C next to each of the clefs. This is the 'time signature',
which tells us how many beats should be counted for each 'bar' in
the music. (A 'bar' is the space between two 'bar-lines'.)
If the top number is '3', there are 3 beats in each bar.
