Starting to play chords

LEFT HAND CHORDS
Chords can also be played with the left hand. Try this:

Rest your left-hand fingers lightly on the keys, with the thumb (1) on G below Middle C. Then, play these two-note chords. (Make sure the notes of each chord are played equally loudly and sound at exactly the same time.) Play each chord twice.

Relax your left hand when you have played these chords, by flexing your fingers and resting your hand on your knee.

Make sure you can play chords smoothly and evenly with your left and right hands before going on to the next tune.
