Starting to Play

Remember that each note is always in the same place within the black and white pattern of the keys, and you will soon find your way easily around the keyboard.
Find and play each note as you read this .


C is always to the LEFT of every group of TWO black keys.
D is always to the MIDDLE of every group of TWO black keys.
E is always to the RIGHT of every group of TWO black keys.
F is always to the LEFT of every group of THREE black keys.

G and A are always together in every group of THREE black keys, with A to the right of every G.

And B is to the RIGHT of every group of THREE black keys.

Starting with any C, play the notes on each white key to the right, one after the other, until you come to another C. Say the name of each note as you play it, and notice where it fits in the black and white pattern of the keys:
